Welcome to the Charles City Community School District!

Registration for the 2026-27 school year opened August 1. Registration packets were mailed the week of July 20-24. If you didn't receive a packet, please contact Central Services 641-257-6500.

    2026-27 Preschool Registration

    Preschool registration for the 26-27 school year is open! Preschool classes are in session Monday - Friday, 8:10 a.m. - 1:10 p.m.

    2026-27 Kindergarten Registration

    Washington Elementary is welcoming our next group of Comet Kindergarten students! To enroll for kindergarten, your student must be 5 years old by September 15, 2026.

    Kindergarten Round-Up is Wednesday, May 13, from 8:10 a.m. - 11:10 a.m.

    Assistance with Registration

    Registration for the 2026-27 can be completed online through PowerSchool. Registration instructions and additional information were mailed out to returning school district families in July.

    If families need in-person assistance or are new to the district, they are asked to make an appointment by calling the school building their student will be attending.

    • Washington and Lincoln Elementary - School starts at 8:10 a.m. and dismisses at 3:10 p.m.
      • Doors at Washington and Lincoln Elementary open at 7:50 a.m.
    • Middle School & High School - School starts at 8 a.m. and dismisses at 3 p.m.
      • Doors at the Middle School open at 7:45 a.m.
